Description: This print is from the series, 日本木版画粋 (Masterpieces of Japanese Woodblock Prints), a collection of reproductions of various themes and designs published around 1924. The print quality is excellent (for most of the prints) and there are almost no traces of baren on the back, so we assume that it was at least partially machine printed.

Very delicate and detailed picture of a young mother and her small daughter. The woman is looking at the cuckoo flying across the sky while holding a pipe with one hand and a piece of colored cloth with the other. We can’t see the face of the young girl as she is backwards, but we can surely appreciate the colored patterns and details of the clothes they are both wearing.
