Description: This print is from a collection of woodblock prints of beautiful women from the Meiji period by a number of leading designers of the day, including Tsukioka Yoshitoshi, Ogata Gekko, and Kaburagi Kiyokata. The collection "Meiji no Onna" (Women of Meiji) was published in 1977 by Soudosha, and most of the designs were being reproduced for the first time.

This picture, depicting a young woman scared by thunder, was originally made for a kuchi-e (book illustration). It captures the emotional moment in an elegant way.

There are a few traces of glue removal on the backside.
