Description: This print is from a collection of woodblock prints of beautiful women from the Meiji period by a number of leading designers of the day, including Tsukioka Yoshitoshi, Ogata Gekko, and Kaburagi Kiyokata. The collection "Meiji no Onna" (Women of Meiji) was published in 1977 by Soudosha, and most of the designs were being reproduced for the first time.

It's originally made for a kuchi-e (book illustration), depicting a geisha at a round window with plum blossoms. The print gives an elegant and sophisticated impression by the woman's pose - holding a plum branch at her lips and the composition of the window and plum blossom branches.

There are a few slight creases at the upper right edge. Also, there are a few traces of glue removal on the backside.
