( Change currency: $ / £ / € ) Price: $ 40.00£ 30.50€ 35.50   Description: Many of the ‘postcard-size’ format prints in the Mokuhankan catalogue began life as a New Year print being sent to fans and collectors of our work, and this is one such example. It was designed for us in late 2017 by our long-time collaborator Jed Henry, who is most well known for his video game parody designs in the Ukiyo-e Heroes series. We had asked him to come up with something warm and light-hearted and were very pleased when he sent us the initial sketch of this casual scene of a young girl and her companion. When I was being brought up, the idea that one could feed an animal at the table was inconceivable, and perhaps my mother doesn’t see this image as something to emulate, but those of us who have lived here in Japan - especially in an older uninsulated house - have undoubtedly had the experience of having a meal while sitting at the low kotatsu table on a cold winter day. In such an environment, one would need a heart of stone to resist the temptation of sharing one’s food like this ... All in the family!
